ISV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
"Now I'll conclude with this: my heart is trembling violently; it feels like it's about to leap from my body!1"At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.
Listen carefully to his thundering voice; to the sound that rumbles from his mouth.2"Listen closely to the thunder of His voice, And the rumbling that goes out from His mouth.
He releases his lightning throughout the sky, to the ends of the earth.3"Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning to the ends of the earth.
His thunder roars after it; his majestic voice will thunder; and no one can trace them once his voice has been heard.4"After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightnings when His voice is heard.
"God thunders with his wondrous voice; he does awesome works that we don't comprehend.5"God thunders with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannot comprehend.
For he says to the snow, 'Fall to the earth.' He tells the rain, 'Pour down,' then it rains profusely.6"For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth,' And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.'
"He puts a limit to the skill of every person; to delineate all people from what they do.7"He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.
"Then a beast enters its lair and remains in its den.8"Then the beast goes into its lair And remains in its den.
"From the south, a whirlwind proceeds, out of the icy north winds.9"Out of the south comes the storm, And out of the north the cold.
From the breath of God ice is produced, and a wide body of water is frozen.10"From the breath of God ice is made, And the expanse of the waters is frozen.
He also loads the clouds with moisture, scattering his lightning with the clouds.11"Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.
It whirls about in circles at his direction to accomplish all that he commands throughout the surface of the entire world,12"It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, That it may do whatever He commands it On the face of the inhabited earth.
whether for discipline on his land or to demonstrate his gracious love, he causes it to be realized."13"Whether for correction, or for His world, Or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen.
"Pay attention to this, Job! Stand still, and consider the wondrous attributes of God.14"Listen to this, O Job, Stand and consider the wonders of God.
Do you know how God ordains them, and makes his lightning to flash throughout his clouds?15"Do you know how God establishes them, And makes the lightning of His cloud to shine?
Do you understand his wondrous work of balancing the clouds, the one whose knowledge is perfect,16"Do you know about the layers of the thick clouds, The wonders of one perfect in knowledge,
you whose garments are hot, even though the land is cooled by a south wind?17You whose garments are hot, When the land is still because of the south wind?
Can you spread out the skies like he does; can you cast them as one might a mirror?18"Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a molten mirror?
Tell us! What are we to say to him? Can we prepare our case to face him when our faces are in darkness?19"Teach us what we shall say to Him; We cannot arrange our case because of darkness.
Has it been relayed to God that I want to talk? Can a person speak when he is confused?"20"Shall it be told Him that I would speak? Or should a man say that he would be swallowed up?
"So then, the sun is too bright to gaze at, is it not? The sky is swept clean by the wind that blows, is it not?21"Now men do not see the light which is bright in the skies; But the wind has passed and cleared them.
From the north he brings gold; around God is awesome splendor.22"Out of the north comes golden splendor; Around God is awesome majesty.
We cannot find the Almighty— he is majestic in power and justice, and overflowing with righteousness; he never oppresses.23"The Almighty-- we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness.
Therefore humanity fears him, which none of the wise can quite comprehend."24"Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart."
