King James Bible | English Standard Version |
A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah. His foundation is in the holy mountains. | 1On the holy mount stands the city he founded; |
The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. | 2the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. |
Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. | 3Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God. Selah |
I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there. | 4Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush— “This one was born there,” they say. |
And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. | 5And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. |
The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. | 6The LORD records as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” Selah |
As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee. | 7Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.” |
