Psalm 11
KJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleInternational Standard Version
1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?1I take refuge in the LORD. So how can you say to me, "Flee like a bird to the mountains."?
2For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.2Look, the wicked have bent their bow and placed their arrow on the string, to shoot from the darkness at the upright in heart.
3If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?3When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
4The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.4The LORD is in his holy Temple; the LORD's throne is in the heavens. His eyes see, his glance examines humanity.
5The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.5The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence, he hates.
6Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.6He rains on the wicked burning coals and sulfur; a scorching wind is their destiny.
7For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.7Indeed, the LORD is righteous; he loves righteousness; the upright will see him face-to-face.
