King James BibleNET Bible
Moreover he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length thereof, and twenty cubits the breadth thereof, and ten cubits the height thereof.1He made a bronze altar, 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 15 feet high.
Also he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and five cubits the height thereof; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.2He also made the big bronze basin called "The Sea." It measured 15 feet from rim to rim, was circular in shape, and stood seven and one-half feet high. Its circumference was 45 feet.
And under it was the similitude of oxen, which did compass it round about: ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about. Two rows of oxen were cast, when it was cast.3Images of bulls were under it all the way around, ten every eighteen inches all the way around. The bulls were in two rows and had been cast with "The Sea."
It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.4"The Sea" stood on top of twelve bulls. Three faced northward, three westward, three southward, and three eastward. "The Sea" was placed on top of them, and they all faced outward.
And the thickness of it was an handbreadth, and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies; and it received and held three thousand baths.5It was four fingers thick and its rim was like that of a cup shaped like a lily blossom. It could hold 18,000 gallons.
He made also ten lavers, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them: such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.6He made ten washing basins; he put five on the south side and five on the north side. In them they rinsed the items used for burnt sacrifices; the priests washed in "The Sea."
And he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form, and set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.7He made ten gold lampstands according to specifications and put them in the temple, five on the right and five on the left.
He made also ten tables, and placed them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. And he made an hundred basons of gold.8He made ten tables and set them in the temple, five on the right and five on the left. He also made one hundred gold bowls.
Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid the doors of them with brass.9He made the courtyard of the priests and the large enclosure and its doors; he plated their doors with bronze.
And he set the sea on the right side of the east end, over against the south.10He put "The Sea" on the south side, in the southeast corner.
And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God;11Huram Abi made the pots, shovels, and bowls. He finished all the work on God's temple he had been assigned by King Solomon.
To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars;12He made the two pillars, the two bowl-shaped tops of the pillars, the latticework for the bowl-shaped tops of the two pillars,
And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars.13the four hundred pomegranate-shaped ornaments for the latticework of the two pillars (each latticework had two rows of these ornaments at the bowl-shaped top of the pillar),
He made also bases, and lavers made he upon the bases;14the ten movable stands with their ten basins,
One sea, and twelve oxen under it.15the big bronze basin called "The Sea" with its twelve bulls underneath,
The pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the LORD of bright brass.16and the pots, shovels, and meat forks. All the items King Solomon assigned Huram Abi to make for the LORD's temple were made from polished bronze.
In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredathah.17The king had them cast in earthen foundries in the region of the Jordan between Succoth and Zarethan.
Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: for the weight of the brass could not be found out.18Solomon made so many of these items they did not weigh the bronze.
And Solomon made all the vessels that were for the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables whereon the shewbread was set;19Solomon also made these items for God's temple: the gold altar, the tables on which the Bread of the Presence was kept,
Moreover the candlesticks with their lamps, that they should burn after the manner before the oracle, of pure gold;20the pure gold lampstands and their lamps which burned as specified at the entrance to the inner sanctuary,
And the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, made he of gold, and that perfect gold;21the pure gold flower-shaped ornaments, lamps, and tongs,
And the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers, of pure gold: and the entry of the house, the inner doors thereof for the most holy place, and the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.22the pure gold trimming shears, basins, pans, and censers, and the gold door sockets for the inner sanctuary (the most holy place) and for the doors of the main hall of the temple.
