Psalm 1
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.1Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.2But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night.
3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.3They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.4But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.5They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.6For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
