Psalm 91
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.1Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.2This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.3For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.4He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;5Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.6Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.7Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.8Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;9If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.10no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.11For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.12They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.13You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.14The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.15When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.16I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
