For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.1For the choir director: according to Jeduthun. A Davidic psalm. I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.2He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken.
How long will you assail a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?3How long will you threaten a man? Will all of you attack as if he were a leaning wall or a tottering stone fence?
They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth, But inwardly they curse. Selah.4They only plan to bring him down from his high position. They take pleasure in lying; they bless with their mouths, but they curse inwardly. Selah
My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.5Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.6He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken.
On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.7My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.8Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah
Men of low degree are only vanity and men of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up; They are together lighter than breath.9Men are only a vapor; exalted men, an illusion. Weighed in the scales, they go up; together they are less than a vapor.
Do not trust in oppression And do not vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.10Place no trust in oppression, or false hope in robbery. If wealth increases, pay no attention to it.
Once God has spoken; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God;11God has spoken once; I have heard this twice: strength belongs to God,
And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, For You recompense a man according to his work.12and faithful love belongs to You, LORD. For You repay each according to his works.
