For the choir director. A Psalm of David. How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? | 1For the music director; a psalm of David. How long, LORD, will you continue to ignore me? How long will you pay no attention to me? |
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? | 2How long must I worry, and suffer in broad daylight? How long will my enemy gloat over me? |
Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; Enlighten my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death, | 3Look at me! Answer me, O LORD my God! Revive me, or else I will die! |
And my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken. | 4Then my enemy will say, "I have defeated him!" Then my foes will rejoice because I am upended. |
But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. | 5But I trust in your faithfulness. May I rejoice because of your deliverance! |
I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me. | 6I will sing praises to the LORD when he vindicates me. |
