New American Standard Bible 1995 | New Living Translation |
A Psalm of David. I will sing of lovingkindness and justice, To You, O LORD, I will sing praises. | 1I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs. |
I will give heed to the blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart. | 2I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. |
I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me. | 3I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. |
A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil. | 4I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. |
Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; No one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure. | 5I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. |
My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me. | 6I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. |
He who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who speaks falsehood shall not maintain his position before me. | 7I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. |
Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to cut off from the city of the LORD all those who do iniquity. | 8My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the LORD from their grip. |
