Psalm 8
NASB Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995New Living Translation
1For the choir director; on the Gittith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!1O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.
2From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease.2You have taught children and infants to tell of your strength, silencing your enemies and all who oppose you.
3When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;3When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place—
4What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him?4what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?
5Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty!5Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.
6You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,6You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority—
7All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field,7the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals,
8The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.8the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.
9O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!9O LORD, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
