Psalm 32
NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
1By David; a well-written song. How blessed is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, whose sin is pardoned! 1Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the LORD does not punish, in whose spirit there is no deceit. 2Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long. 3For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
4For day and night you tormented me; you tried to destroy me in the intense heat of summer. (Selah) 4For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah
5Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, "I will confess my rebellious acts to the LORD." And then you forgave my sins. (Selah) 5I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
6For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them. 6Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.
7You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance. (Selah) 7You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
8I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye. 8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
9Do not be like an unintelligent horse or mule, which will not obey you unless they are controlled by a bridle and bit. 9Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.
10An evil person suffers much pain, but the LORD's faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him. 10Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.
11Rejoice in the LORD and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright! 11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
