Psalm 62
NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
For the music director, Jeduthun; a psalm of David. For God alone I patiently wait; he is the one who delivers me. 1For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended. 2He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.
How long will you threaten a man? All of you are murderers, as dangerous as a leaning wall or an unstable fence. 3How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
They spend all their time planning how to bring him down. They love to use deceit; they pronounce blessings with their mouths, but inwardly they utter curses. (Selah) 4They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah
Patiently wait for God alone, my soul! For he is the one who gives me confidence. 5For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended. 6He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
God delivers me and exalts me; God is my strong protector and my shelter. 7On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, you people! Pour out your hearts before him! God is our shelter! (Selah) 8Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah
Men are nothing but a mere breath; human beings are unreliable. When they are weighed in the scales, all of them together are lighter than air. 9Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.
Do not trust in what you can gain by oppression! Do not put false confidence in what you can gain by robbery! If wealth increases, do not become attached to it! 10Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.
God has declared one principle; two principles I have heard: God is strong, 11Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,
and you, O Lord, demonstrate loyal love. For you repay men for what they do. 12and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.
