| 1Then Jesus entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. | 1And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. |
| 2They watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they could accuse him. | 2And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. |
| 3So he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Stand up among all these people." | 3And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. |
| 4Then he said to them, "Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or evil, to save a life or destroy it?" But they were silent. | 4And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. |
| 5After looking around at them in anger, grieved by the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. | 5And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. |
| 6So the Pharisees went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, as to how they could assassinate him. | 6And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. |

| 8Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan River, and around Tyre and Sidon a great multitude came to him when they heard about the things he had done. | 8And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. |
| 9Because of the crowd, he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him so the crowd would not press toward him. | 9And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. |
| 10For he had healed many, so that all who were afflicted with diseases pressed toward him in order to touch him. | 10For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. |
| 11And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, "You are the Son of God." | 11And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. |
| 12But he sternly ordered them not to make him known. | 12And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known. |
| 13Now Jesus went up the mountain and called for those he wanted, and they came to him. | 13And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. |
| 14He appointed twelve (whom he named apostles), so that they would be with him and he could send them to preach | 14And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, |
| 15and to have authority to cast out demons. | 15And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: |

| 17to James and his brother John, the sons of Zebedee, he gave the name Boanerges (that is, "sons of thunder"); | 17And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: |
| 18and Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot, | 18And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, |
| 19and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. | 19And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. |
| 20Now Jesus went home, and a crowd gathered so that they were not able to eat. | 20And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. |
| 21When his family heard this they went out to restrain him, for they said, "He is out of his mind." | 21And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. |
| 22The experts in the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebul," and, "By the ruler of demons he casts out demons." | 22And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. |
| 23So he called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan? | 23And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? |
| 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom will not be able to stand. | 24And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. |
| 25If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. | 25And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. |
| 26And if Satan rises against himself and is divided, he is not able to stand and his end has come. | 26And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. |
| 27But no one is able to enter a strong man's house and steal his property unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can thoroughly plunder his house. | 27No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. |
| 28I tell you the truth, people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter. | 28Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: |
| 29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternal sin" | 29But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: |
| 30(because they said, "He has an unclean spirit"). | 30Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. |
| 31Then Jesus' mother and his brothers came. Standing outside, they sent word to him, to summon him. | 31There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. |
| 32A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, "Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you." | 32And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. |
| 33He answered them and said, "Who are my mother and my brothers?" | 33And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? |
| 34And looking at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! | 34And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! |
| 35For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother." | 35For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. |
