Then Bildad the Shuhite answered: | 1Then Bildad the Shuhite answered, |
"Dominion and awesome might belong to God; he establishes peace in his heights. | 2"Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishes peace in His heights. |
Can his armies be numbered? On whom does his light not rise? | 3"Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise? |
How then can a human being be righteous before God? How can one born of a woman be pure? | 4"How then can a man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of woman? |
If even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure as far as he is concerned, | 5"If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight, |
how much less a mortal man, who is but a maggot--a son of man, who is only a worm!" | 6How much less man, that maggot, And the son of man, that worm!" |
