Corinthians 13
NKJV Parallel CSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT GRK]
New King James VersionChristian Standard Bible
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.1If I speak human or angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.2If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.3And if I give away all my possessions, and if I give over my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;4Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant,
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;5is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs.
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;6Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.7It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.8Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part.9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part,
But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.10but when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things.
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.13Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love--but the greatest of these is love.
