Psalm 146
New King James VersionChristian Standard Bible
Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!1Hallelujah! My soul, praise the LORD.
While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.2I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.3Do not trust in nobles, in a son of man, who cannot save.
His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.4When his breath leaves him, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans die.
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God,5Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,
Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever,6the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains faithful forever,
Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners.7executing justice for the exploited and giving food to the hungry. The LORD frees prisoners.
The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; The LORD raises those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous.8The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD raises up those who are oppressed. The LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.9The LORD protects resident aliens and helps the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
The LORD shall reign forever— Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!10The LORD reigns forever; Zion, your God reigns for all generations. Hallelujah!
