A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O LORD, I will sing praises. | 1A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. |
I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. | 2I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. |
I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. | 3I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. |
A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness. | 4A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person. |
Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure. | 5Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. |
My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me; He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me. | 6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. |
He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence. | 7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. |
Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD. | 8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD. |
