New King James Version | NET Bible |
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. | 1Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves, so that you are not tempted too. |
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. | 2Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. |
For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. | 3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. |
But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. | 4Let each one examine his own work. Then he can take pride in himself and not compare himself with someone else. |
For each one shall bear his own load. | 5For each one will carry his own load. |
Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. | 6Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it. |
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. | 7Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, |
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. | 8because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. |
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. | 9So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. |
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. | 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith. |
See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand! | 11See what big letters I make as I write to you with my own hand! |
As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. | 12Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. |
For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. | 13For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh. |
But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. | 14But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. |
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. | 15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation! |
And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. | 16And all who will behave in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. |
From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. | 17From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. |
Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. | 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen. |
