Psalm 147
New King James VersionNET Bible
Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.1Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God! Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate!
The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.2The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, and gathers the exiles of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.3He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.4He counts the number of the stars; he names all of them.
Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.5Our Lord is great and has awesome power; there is no limit to his wisdom.
The LORD lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.6The LORD lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground.
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; Sing praises on the harp to our God,7Offer to the LORD a song of thanks! Sing praises to our God to the accompaniment of a harp!
Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.8He covers the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides.
He gives to the beast its food, And to the young ravens that cry.9He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp.
He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.10He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior's strong legs.
The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.11The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love.
Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!12Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!
For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you.13For he makes the bars of your gates strong. He blesses your children within you.
He makes peace in your borders, And fills you with the finest wheat.14He brings peace to your territory. He abundantly provides for you the best grain.
He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.15He sends his command through the earth; swiftly his order reaches its destination.
He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes;16He sends the snow that is white like wool; he spreads the frost that is white like ashes.
He casts out His hail like morsels; Who can stand before His cold?17He throws his hailstones like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends?
He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.18He then orders it all to melt; he breathes on it, and the water flows.
He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.19He proclaims his word to Jacob, his statutes and regulations to Israel.
He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise the LORD!20He has not done so with any other nation; they are not aware of his regulations. Praise the LORD!
