| 1I trust in the LORD for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! | 1For the choir director. Davidic. I have taken refuge in the LORD. How can you say to me," Escape to the mountain like a bird! |
| 2The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. | 2For look, the wicked string the bow; they put the arrow on the bowstring to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. |
| 3The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?” | 3When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" |
| 4But the LORD is in his holy Temple; the LORD still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. | 4The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD's throne is in heaven. His eyes watch; He examines everyone. |
