Psalm 28
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
1I pray to you, O LORD, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die.1A Psalm of David. Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.2Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3Do not drag me away with the wicked— with those who do evil— those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts.3Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4Give them the punishment they so richly deserve! Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness. Pay them back for all their evil deeds! Give them a taste of what they have done to others.4Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5They care nothing for what the LORD has done or for what his hands have made. So he will tear them down, and they will never be rebuilt!5Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
6Praise the LORD! For he has heard my cry for mercy.6Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.7The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8The LORD gives his people strength. He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.8The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9Save your people! Bless Israel, your special possession. Lead them like a shepherd, and carry them in your arms forever.9Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
