| 1Let the godly sing for joy to the LORD; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. | 1You godly ones, shout for joy because of the LORD! It is appropriate for the morally upright to offer him praise. |
| 2Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. | 2Give thanks to the LORD with the harp! Sing to him to the accompaniment of a ten-stringed instrument! |
| 3Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. | 3Sing to him a new song! Play skillfully as you shout out your praises to him! |
| 4For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does. | 4For the LORD's decrees are just, and everything he does is fair. |

| 20We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield. | 20We wait for the LORD; he is our deliverer and shield. |
