1 Everyone who believes that Jesus (YHWH saves) is the Christ (the Anointed One) has been born of God {Theou}, and everyone who loves {agapōn} the Father also loves {agapa} those born of Him \and everyone loving the One having begotten also loves the one having been begotten from Him./. 2 By this we know that we love {agapōmen} the children of God {Theou}: when we love God {Theon} and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love {agapē} of God {Theou}, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome, 4 because everyone born of God {Theou} overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. 5 Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus (YHWH saves) is the Son of God {Theou}. 6 This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One)—not by water alone, but by water and blood.
