Apply Joshua 3:10 to daily challenges?
How can we apply God's faithfulness in Joshua 3:10 to our daily challenges?

Setting the scene

Israel is camped at the flooded Jordan. Joshua tells the people that the moment the priests’ feet touch the water, God will pile the river in a heap and Israel will cross on dry ground. This literal miracle will be the proof that the “living God” is with them and will expel every enemy ahead.

Key verse (Joshua 3:10)

“By this you will know that the living God is among you and that He will surely drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites.”

What the verse shows about God’s faithfulness

• He is alive and actively present.

• He provides visible assurances of His promises.

• He guarantees victory over every opposing force.

• His word about the future is as certain as the miracle happening in the present.

Connecting Israel’s moment to our daily challenges

• Flooded Jordan = circumstances that look impassable (financial strain, health crises, strained relationships).

• Seven enemy nations = layered obstacles (fear, doubt, past failures, etc.).

• Priests stepping first = obedience before evidence. God responds to faith-driven action, not passive waiting.

• Dry riverbed = God making a way where none exists, proving He alone gets the credit.

Practical ways to walk this out today

• Name your “river” and “enemy nations.” Be specific so victory can be celebrated specifically.

• Recall a past instance of God’s faithfulness as Joshua recalled the Red Sea (Psalm 77:11-14).

• Step out: make the phone call, apply for the job, forgive the person—whatever obedience looks like—before you see the water move.

• Speak God’s promise aloud: “The living God is among me and will surely drive out ______.”

• Keep memorials: journal answered prayers, mark dates of breakthrough, tell the story to others (Joshua 4:6-7).

• Expect complete, not partial, victory. God listed every nation; nothing is overlooked.

Daily reminder

The same God who literally halted the Jordan is with you. Step where He tells you to step, and watch every “Canaanite” yield to His unquestionable, unfailing faithfulness.
