Apply Moses' obedience daily?
How can we apply Moses' example of obedience in our daily challenges?

Grounded in God’s Sovereignty

Exodus 9:29: “Moses replied, ‘When I have left the city, I will spread out my hands to the LORD. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth belongs to the LORD.’”

• Moses obeys because he knows “the earth belongs to the LORD.”

• Every act of obedience starts with settling who is really in charge (Psalm 24:1; Isaiah 45:5-6).

• Daily challenge: before reacting, remind yourself aloud, “This situation already belongs to the Lord.”

Immediate, Risk-Taking Obedience

• Moses promises Pharaoh he will leave the city at once—while hailstones are still falling.

• Obedience often requires moving before circumstances look safe. Compare Hebrews 11:27; Acts 5:29.

• Practice: when the Spirit prods you to apologize, give, or speak truth, do it promptly—don’t wait for “better weather.”

Hands Lifted: Obedience Expresses Dependence

• “I will spread out my hands to the LORD.” Moses obeys by praying, not by swinging a hammer to stop the storm.

• True obedience leans on God’s power, not human ingenuity (2 Chronicles 20:12; John 15:5).

• Application steps:

– Start hard tasks with deliberate prayer, even a quick “Lord, this is Yours.”

– Keep praying until the “hail” stops; persistence matters (Luke 18:1-8).

Obedience as Public Witness

• Moses tells Pharaoh exactly what will happen so “you may know.” His obedience becomes a sermon.

• Our submitted lives let others see God’s authority and goodness (Matthew 5:16; 1 Peter 2:12).

• Think: what act of faith today could point coworkers or family to Christ’s lordship?

Translating Moses’ Example into Today

1. Clarify Lordship

– Read a verse on God’s ownership each morning (Psalm 50:10-12).

2. Commit Quickly

– Set a “first-time yes” habit: obey the nudge before you rationalize it away.

3. Pray Through, Not Around

– Schedule prayer into the task itself (prayer walks at lunch, hands on the steering wheel prayers).

4. Speak Expectantly

– When God leads, articulate your trust: “I believe God will provide” (Mark 11:22-24).

5. Celebrate Testimonies

– Record and share outcomes; they reinforce future obedience (Psalm 105:1-5).

Receiving the Same Confidence Moses Knew

• The God who halted Egypt’s hail is unchanged (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8).

• Obedience today unlocks the same divine intervention: protection, provision, and a platform for His glory.

• Therefore, take the next hard step. Spread out your hands. The earth—and your challenge—already belongs to Him.
