How can senses glorify God today?
In what ways can we use our senses to glorify God today?

Foundations: God Gives Us Senses for His Glory

“Ears that hear and eyes that see—the LORD has made them both.” (Proverbs 20:12)

God designed every sense as a gift. Stewarding them well is one practical way to “love the LORD your God with all your heart” in everyday life.

Hearing That Honors the Lord

• Listen actively to Scripture

– “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

– Audiobooks, Scripture apps, and corporate reading keep ears tuned to truth.

• Respond to His voice

– “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)

• Let obedience follow hearing

– “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” (James 1:22)

• Use music and conversation to build up

– Singing praise, receiving sound teaching, and listening well to others reflect His character.

Seeing With Spiritual Eyes

• Marvel at creation

– “The heavens declare the glory of God.” (Psalm 19:1)

– A sunrise, a microscope slide, or a night sky all preach His greatness.

• Illuminate good works

– “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

• Read His Word visually

– Mark up a physical Bible, post verses at your workspace, memorize through flash cards.

• Notice people’s needs

– Eyes open to the lonely, hurting, and overlooked prompt compassionate action.

Taste and Smell as Invitations to Worship

• Savor His goodness

– “Taste and see that the LORD is good.” (Psalm 34:8)

– Mealtimes become gratitude moments; the Lord’s Supper points to salvation.

• Offer fragrant sacrifices

– “For we are to God the sweet aroma of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 2:15)

– Generosity, service, and prayer rise like incense. (Psalm 141:2; Philippians 4:18)

Touch That Communicates Christ’s Love

• Serve with your hands

– Cooking a meal, writing an encouraging note, repairing a neighbor’s fence.

• Comfort and heal

– A hug, a steadying arm, or laying on hands in prayer echoes Jesus’ ministry.

• Create and build

– Art, craftsmanship, and gardening mirror the Creator’s care.

• Reach out to find Him

– “…seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.” (Acts 17:27)

Putting It All Together

Each sense is a channel for worship: hear His truth, see His works, taste His goodness, smell His grace, touch with His love. Deliberately engaging these God-given abilities turns ordinary moments into doxology, and everyday believers into living testimonies of His glory.
