How can we apply "give to God" today?
In what ways can we apply "give to God what is God's" today?

A Coin, a Question, and a Command

“Then He said to them, ‘So render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.’” — Matthew 22:21

What Belongs to God?

• “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof” (Psalm 24:1).

• Our bodies: “You are not your own… therefore glorify God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

• Every breath, gift, and moment we possess.

Practical Ways to Give God What Is His

• Finances

– Tithe and offerings: “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse” (Malachi 3:10).

– Give cheerfully: “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

• Body and Holiness

– Present yourself “a living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1).

– Flee sin, pursue purity (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

• Time

– “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16).

– Schedule regular worship, Scripture reading, and fellowship.

• Talents and Skills

– “Use whatever gift he has received to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10).

– Volunteer in church, mentor the next generation, create art that exalts Christ.

• Worship

– “God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

– Sing, pray, and obey with undivided hearts.

• Obedience

– “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15).

– Align decisions with His Word, even when costly.

• Witness

– “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20).

– Share the gospel in conversations, deeds, and digital spaces.

• Work and Civic Duty

– Pay taxes, honor authorities, yet labor “for the Lord and not for men” (Colossians 3:23).

– Integrity on the job is part of rendering to God.

Living It Out in Everyday Life

• Start each day acknowledging His ownership: “Lord, all I have is Yours.”

• Budget with giving at the top, not the leftovers.

• Block out screen-free time to read Scripture and pray.

• Identify one gift you have and put it to use this week for someone else’s good.

• Let holiness guide entertainment choices, speech, and relationships.

• View Monday morning’s workload as worship just as sincerely as Sunday’s singing.

Encouragement to Respond

God’s call is not a burden but an invitation into joyful partnership with the One who already owns it all. When we truly render to God what is God’s, we find freedom, purpose, and the deep satisfaction of living exactly as we were designed to live.
