How can we emulate Jesus daily?
In what ways can we emulate Jesus' mission in our daily lives?

The Mission Stated Clearly

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

What Jesus Did—And What That Means for Us

• He took the initiative—He “came.”

• He pursued people who were spiritually adrift—He “seek[s]” them.

• He provides rescue, not merely encouragement—He “save[s]” them.

Our calling is to mirror those same three actions in our normal routines.

Daily Ways to Seek the Lost

• Be present where people actually are—workplaces, neighborhoods, gyms, online platforms.

• Start conversations that move beyond surface topics; ask about hopes, fears, stories.

• Listen first. Jesus often asked questions (Luke 18:41; John 5:6) before offering truth.

• Show hospitality; a shared meal or coffee can open hearts (Luke 19:5-7).

• Pray by name for family members, friends, or coworkers who need Christ (1 Timothy 2:1).

Daily Ways to Save the Lost (Point Them to the Savior)

• Share the gospel clearly: humanity’s sin (Romans 3:23), Christ’s substitution (1 Peter 2:24), His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), and the call to repentance and faith (Acts 3:19).

• Use your testimony—tell how Jesus sought and saved you (Mark 5:19).

• Offer Scripture itself; God’s word carries its own power (Hebrews 4:12).

• Invite people to gather with believers—church, Bible study, small group (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Follow up; discipleship is ongoing (Matthew 28:19-20).

Heart Posture That Reflects His

• Compassion: “When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion” (Matthew 9:36).

• Humility: He “came not to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45).

• Obedience: He always did the Father’s will (John 6:38).

• Perseverance: He kept seeking until the mission was finished (John 19:30).

Practical Checklist for the Week Ahead

□ Identify three people you regularly see who may not know Christ.

□ Schedule one intentional, relational touchpoint with each—text, call, coffee.

□ Craft a two-minute version of your salvation story; practice it.

□ Memorize Luke 19:10 and Romans 6:23 to keep the gospel fresh on your lips.

□ Ask the Lord each morning, “Who’s my mission today?” and watch for His answer.

Why It Matters

God “desires all men to be saved” (1 Timothy 2:4). By stepping into Jesus’ mission, we align with heaven’s heartbeat, experience deeper joy, and watch the kingdom expand—one life at a time.

How does Luke 19:10 connect with the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20?
