How can we glorify God post-prayer?
In what ways can we "glorify" God after He answers our prayers?

Recognizing the Pattern: Luke 17:15

“When one of them saw that he was healed, he came back, glorifying God in a loud voice.”

Immediate Thanksgiving

• Stop and turn back, just as the healed leper did.

• Speak gratitude aloud—“in a loud voice”—so God receives open acknowledgment.

Psalm 50:15: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”

Public Testimony

• Share the story of answered prayer with family, friends, church, and anyone God puts in your path.

• Your witness magnifies Him, building faith in others (Psalm 40:10).

John 14:13: answered prayer is designed “so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

Obedient Action

• Respond to God’s answer by obeying any specific commands He has given (Luke 17:14; the lepers had to show themselves to the priests).

• Let gratitude shape daily choices—“whatever you do… do it all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

• Keep vows you made while waiting for His help (Psalm 116:12-14).

Worship and Praise

• Gather with believers to sing, read Scripture, and exalt His name (Psalm 34:3).

• Private worship—songs, psalms, and prayer—continues the posture of humility that invited His answer.

Revelation 5:12-13 reminds us that heaven itself rings with praise; join that chorus now.

Generous Sharing

• Use the blessing He provided (time, resources, health, finances) to serve others.

2 Corinthians 9:12: generosity “is… overflowing in many expressions of thanksgiving to God.”

• Practical service turns answered prayer into ongoing glory for Him.

Continued Dependence

• Keep seeking Him, not merely the gifts He gives.

• Maintain a rhythm of prayer and expectancy, demonstrating trust that He will continue to work (Philippians 4:6-7).

• Ongoing reliance prevents drift into self-reliance and keeps the spotlight on His faithfulness.

Living Monuments of Grace

• Like the lone leper, let your life be a perpetual return trip to Jesus—words, actions, resources, and attitudes all pointing back to the One who hears and answers prayer.
