How can we integrate it into life?
In what ways can we "do not ignore it" in our lives?

Setting the Verse in View

“How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,” (Hebrews 2:3)

What “Neglect” Looks Like

• Letting the truth drift to the background

• Assuming grace without pursuing holiness (Hebrews 12:14)

• Treating God’s Word as optional reading (Deuteronomy 8:3)

• Ignoring the prompting of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:30)

Everyday Ways We Can Refuse to Ignore Our Salvation

• Stay in the Word daily

– Read, study, and meditate (Psalm 1:2)

– Memorize key passages so truth is always near (Psalm 119:11)

• Respond in obedience

– “Be doers of the word and not hearers only” (James 1:22)

– Act immediately when Scripture exposes sin (Proverbs 28:13)

• Prioritize prayer

– Set fixed times, but also pray “without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

– Thank God specifically for the cross, resurrection, and future hope

• Join vibrant fellowship

– “Let us not neglect meeting together” (Hebrews 10:25)

– Invite accountability; share what God is teaching you

• Serve with the gifts He provides

– “Do not neglect the gift within you” (1 Timothy 4:14)

– Look for needs in church and community, then step in

• Speak of Christ to others

– “Always be prepared to give an answer” (1 Peter 3:15)

– Sharing refreshes our own awe of salvation

• Guard your heart

– Turn from habits that dull spiritual hunger (Hebrews 12:1)

– Fill downtime with worship and godly content (Philippians 4:8)

Reinforcing Scriptures

Hebrews 12:25 — “See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks.”

Deuteronomy 4:9 — “Watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen.”

2 Peter 1:10 — “Be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure.”

Living Alert, Not Apathetic

Christ purchased our rescue at immeasurable cost. By keeping His Word central, acting promptly on what we hear, and engaging wholeheartedly in worship, fellowship, service, and witness, we make certain we do not ignore the salvation He so graciously secured.
