How can we seek God's help for faith?
In what ways can we seek God's help to strengthen our belief?

Living the Cry of Mark 9:24

“Immediately the boy’s father cried out, ‘I do believe; help my unbelief!’”

Confessing Our Need Honestly

- God answers humility. The father’s transparent plea shows that admitting weakness is the first step.

- Psalm 51:17 reminds us, “A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”

- Bring every lingering doubt into the light; God already sees it.

Taking God at His Word

- Faith grows when we treat Scripture as true in every detail.

- Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man, that He should lie.”

- Read, reread, and stand on passages that declare His character and promises (e.g., Isaiah 40:28-31; Hebrews 13:5).

Anchoring Our Minds in Scripture

- Romans 10:17: “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

- Set aside daily time to read out loud, underline verbs that reveal what God does, and memorize key verses.

- Keep verses posted where your eyes fall often—dashboard, mirror, phone lock screen.

Praying for the Spirit’s Enabling

- Luke 11:13 assures us the Father loves to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask.

- Invite the Spirit to illuminate truth (John 14:26) and to root out unbelief.

- Pray short, frequent, sincere prayers: “Open my eyes” (Psalm 119:18).

Remembering God’s Past Faithfulness

- Psalm 77:11-12 models rehearsing the works of the Lord.

- Keep a journal of answered prayers and providences; reread it when faith feels thin.

- Share testimonies with family and friends; mutual encouragement strengthens belief (1 Samuel 30:6).

Staying in Fellowship with Believers

- Hebrews 10:24-25 calls us to meet together and spur one another on.

- Join a small group that centers on the Word and honest conversation.

- Let mature believers speak truth when doubt clouds your vision (Proverbs 27:17).

Obeying What We Already Know

- John 7:17 teaches that obedience clarifies understanding.

- Act on the light you have; every step of obedience opens the door to deeper assurance.

- Keep short accounts with sin (1 John 1:9); unconfessed sin dulls faith.

Worship That Refocuses Our Hearts

- Psalm 34:3: “Magnify the LORD with me.” When we exalt Him, unbelief shrinks.

- Sing truth-filled hymns and songs; let worship reshape perspective like it did for Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25).

- Make gratitude a daily discipline—name specific gifts from God morning and night.

Persevering in the Process

- Faith often grows gradually, as in the healing of the blind man in Mark 8:22-25.

- Galatians 6:9 urges us not to grow weary; keep sowing the seeds of truth and trust the Spirit’s timing.

- Remember: the same Jesus who answered the father’s plea in Mark 9 stands ready to answer ours today.
