How can we seek Jesus' healing today?
In what ways can we seek Jesus' healing in our lives today?

Setting the Scene

“Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to Jesus, and He healed him, so that the mute man could speak and see.” (Matthew 12:22)

One moment in Christ’s presence restored sight, speech, and freedom from demonic bondage—body, mind, and spirit all transformed.

What the Miracle Tells Us about Jesus

• Supreme authority over every physical ailment and every evil spirit

• Compassion that moves Him to act when we come to Him (Matthew 8:16-17)

• Power that is still active today—“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

Ways We Can Seek Jesus’ Healing Today

• Personal prayer of faith

– “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you.” (Psalm 50:15)

• Immersing ourselves in His Word

– “He sent forth His word and healed them.” (Psalm 107:20)

– Reading healing accounts (Matthew 9; Mark 5; John 9) builds expectation.

• Confession and repentance

– Sin can open doors to oppression; repentance invites restoration (1 John 1:9).

• Church-family intercession

– “Is any of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.” (James 5:14-16)

• Laying on of hands and anointing with oil

– A biblical, tangible act that unites faith and obedience (Mark 16:17-18).

• Worship and thanksgiving

– Praising God shifts focus from the problem to the Healer (Psalm 103:1-5).

• Receiving Communion with discernment

– Remembering Christ’s body “broken for you” (1 Corinthians 11:24) affirms the promise, “by His stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24)

• Standing on His promises daily

– Speak Scripture aloud; refuse to agree with fear or hopelessness (2 Timothy 1:7).

Addressing Spiritual Oppression

• Jesus delivered the man in Matthew 12:22 from demonic control before healing his senses.

• We stand in His victory: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

• Spiritual warfare involves truth, righteousness, faith, the Word, and prayer (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Physical Healing

• Jesus healed every kind of disease (Matthew 4:23) and still does.

• Ask specifically, believing His will is to bring wholeness (Matthew 8:3).

• Accept medical help gratefully; all healing wisdom ultimately comes from God (Sirach 38:1-2).

Emotional and Mental Healing

• The same Savior who opened blind eyes restores wounded hearts (Luke 4:18).

• Pour out anxieties to Him (1 Peter 5:7).

• Meditate on His nearness and peace (Philippians 4:6-9).

Faith That Perseveres

• The woman with the issue of blood pressed through the crowd until she touched Him—“Daughter, your faith has healed you.” (Mark 5:34)

• Keep asking, seeking, knocking (Matthew 7:7-8).

• Refuse offense when timing seems delayed; trust His perfect wisdom (John 11).

Practical Steps for the Week

1. Read aloud Matthew 12:22-32 and note Jesus’ complete victory.

2. List areas where you need healing—physical, emotional, relational, spiritual.

3. Find at least one promise of healing for each need and declare it daily.

4. Schedule time with trusted believers to pray and, if possible, anoint with oil.

5. Replace complaint with praise; thank God for progress you see and for what He’s still doing unseen.

Jesus still opens blind eyes, looses tongues, breaks chains, and restores lives. Come to Him with expectancy—His healing touch remains as powerful and personal as ever.
