How can we sense God's presence like Mary?
In what ways can we recognize God's presence with us, as Mary did?

Heaven’s Greeting to Mary

Luke 1:28: “The angel appeared to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.’”

Mary’s awareness of God’s presence began with a direct word from God that affirmed two truths: she was favored, and the Lord was presently with her.

God’s Nearness Echoed Throughout Scripture

Exodus 3:12 — “I will surely be with you.”

Joshua 1:9 — “The LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Isaiah 7:14 / Matthew 1:23 — “Immanuel” means “God with us.”

Matthew 28:20 — “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Hebrews 13:5 — “I will never leave you, nor will I ever forsake you.”

Clear Markers of God’s Presence Today

• His written Word

Psalm 119:105: His Word is a lamp and light, guiding step by step.

– Regular, expectant reading allows the Spirit to highlight personal, timely truth.

• The indwelling Holy Spirit

John 14:17: He “lives with you and will be in you.”

– Moments of conviction, comfort, or recalled Scripture signal His active residency.

• Supernatural peace amid turmoil

Philippians 4:7: Peace “surpasses all understanding.”

– When circumstances shout fear yet the heart rests secure, the Lord is near.

• Providential circumstances

Romans 8:28: God works “all things together for good” for those who love Him.

– Open doors, timely provision, or redirected plans often trace His hidden hand.

• Fruit of the Spirit in daily life

Galatians 5:22-23: Love, joy, peace, and the rest blossom only where He abides.

– Consistent growth in Christ-likeness points to His ongoing work.

• The fellowship of believers

Matthew 18:20: “Where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.”

– Encouragement, correction, and shared worship make His presence tangible.

• Joyful, Scripture-saturated praise

Psalm 22:3: He is “enthroned on the praises of Israel.”

– Thanksgiving and song tune the heart to notice Him at work.

Responding as Mary Did

• Humble surrender — Luke 1:38: “I am the Lord’s servant.”

• Active obedience — James 1:22: Be doers of the Word.

• Spontaneous worship — Luke 1:46-47: “My soul magnifies the Lord.”

• Faith-filled expectancy — Luke 1:45: Blessing rests on those who believe His promises.

Living Aware and Assured

Confidence in God’s faithful presence grows as His voice in Scripture is welcomed, His Spirit’s promptings are heeded, and His fingerprints in daily life are acknowledged. Like Mary, believers walk favored and secure because “The Lord is with you.”
