How can we support law enforcers?
In what ways can we support those who "keep the law" today?

Verse to Anchor Our Study

“Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law.” — Proverbs 29:18

Understanding “Those Who Keep the Law”

• Believers devoted to obeying God’s moral commands (John 14:15; Psalm 119:1–2)

• Individuals who uphold scriptural truth in doctrine and lifestyle, even when counter-cultural (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

• Brothers and sisters who model holiness and Christlike love, reflecting God’s character (1 Peter 1:15-16)

Why They Need Our Support

• Obedience often invites opposition or isolation (John 15:18-19)

• Temptations and discouragement can erode steadfastness (Hebrews 12:1)

• Mutual encouragement strengthens the whole body (1 Corinthians 12:26)

Practical Ways to Support Today

• Speak Life

– Offer regular words of affirmation: “I see your faithfulness” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

– Share specific Scriptures that reinforce obedience (Psalm 19:7-11)

• Pray Intentionally

– Intercede for endurance and discernment (Colossians 1:9-11)

– Pray aloud with them when possible, reinforcing unity (Matthew 18:19)

• Shoulder Burdens

– Help meet tangible needs—child-care, meals, financial assistance (Galatians 6:2)

– Volunteer alongside them in ministry projects to lighten the load (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

• Provide Accountability

– Arrange regular check-ins for confession and counsel (James 5:16)

– Gently correct if compromise appears (Galatians 6:1)

• Celebrate Milestones

– Mark anniversaries of service, answered prayers, or victories over sin

– Publicly honor obedience to inspire others (Romans 13:7)

• Create Community

– Host Bible studies and fellowship meals that center on Scripture (Acts 2:42-46)

– Encourage corporate worship and consistent church involvement (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Encouragement from Other Scriptures

• “Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

• “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

• “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” — James 1:22

Taking the Next Step

Identify one believer this week whose steadfast obedience you admire. Choose a specific action from the list above—perhaps a handwritten note or a shared meal—and put it into practice. In doing so, you uphold God’s design for mutual edification and honor those who “keep the law” today.
