How do we cleanse robes in the Lamb's blood?
How can we "wash our robes" in the blood of the Lamb today?

Our Need for Cleansing

- Isaiah 64:6 reminds us, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags.”

- Sin stains every heart, separating us from God (Romans 3:23).

- Revelation 7:14 pictures believers wearing white because “they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

The Only Cleansing Agent

- Ephesians 1:7: “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses.”

- Hebrews 9:14: Christ’s blood “purif[ies] our consciences from dead works to serve the living God!”

- 1 John 1:7: “The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

How We Wash Our Robes Today

1. Believe the Gospel

- Romans 10:9–10: confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead.

- Faith unites us to the Lamb whose blood washes clean (John 3:16).

2. Repent and Turn

- Acts 3:19: “Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away.”

- Turning from sin positions us under the cleansing flow.

3. Confess Daily

- 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

- Confession keeps the garments bright.

4. Rely on Grace, Not Works

- Titus 3:5: salvation is “not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to His mercy.”

- Good deeds flow from cleansing; they do not cause it.

5. Identify Publicly with Christ

- Baptism symbolizes burial and resurrection with Jesus (Romans 6:3–4).

- While water does not cleanse sin, it declares we are already washed by the blood.

6. Walk in the Light

- Ongoing obedience allows the blood to “keep on” cleansing (1 John 1:7, Greek present tense).

- Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and Spirit-led living safeguard purity.

Living in Clean Garments

- Serve with a clear conscience (Hebrews 9:14).

- Guard against compromise (James 1:27).

- Extend forgiveness as cleansed people (Ephesians 4:32).

- Anticipate Christ’s return, striving to be “spotless and blameless” (2 Peter 3:14).

Assurance and Hope

- Revelation 22:14: “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life.”

- Isaiah 1:18 promises sins once “scarlet” become “white as snow.”

- Because the Lamb’s blood is perfect, the cleansing it provides is complete and forever (Hebrews 10:14).
