In what ways can we rely on God for salvation today? The Verse at the Center “For the LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King; it is He who will save us.” — Isaiah 33:22 He Is Our Judge — We Trust His Verdict • As Judge, God alone pronounces the final, authoritative verdict on every life. • Through Christ, the Judge has already rendered the believer “not guilty”: – “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1 – “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21 • Relying on God today means resting in His completed courtroom decision rather than striving to justify ourselves. He Is Our Lawgiver — We Rest in His Covenant • God not only declares the standard; He graciously fulfills it for us. – “I will put My law within them and write it on their hearts.” — Jeremiah 31:33 – “By one sacrifice He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” — Hebrews 10:14 • Because the Lawgiver has provided a new covenant in Jesus’ blood, we can rely on His internal work of transforming obedience instead of external rule-keeping for salvation. He Is Our King — We Submit to His Reign • As King, the Lord holds absolute authority and power to rescue. – “He rescued us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” — Colossians 1:13-14 – “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” — Matthew 28:18 • Depending on God today means acknowledging His sovereign rule, yielding every area of life to Him, and trusting His power to guard and keep us. Living Out This Reliance Today • Thank Him daily for the once-for-all verdict of acquittal in Christ. • Meditate on His Word, allowing the Lawgiver to shape thoughts and behaviors from the inside out. • Obey promptly, recognizing the King’s commands are loving directives for our good. • Share the good news that the Judge, Lawgiver, and King “is mighty to save” — Zephaniah 3:17. Relying on God for salvation is not a vague hope; it is confident trust in the Judge who has cleared our record, the Lawgiver who has written His righteousness on our hearts, and the King who reigns forever—and “it is He who will save us.” |
