How to apply holiness daily?
How can we apply the concept of holiness in our daily actions?

The Golden Plate: Holiness Engraved in Gold

Exodus 39:30: “They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold and inscribed on it like an engraving of a signet: HOLY TO THE LORD.”

• Pure gold—incorruptible, precious

• Worn on the high priest’s forehead—front-and-center

• Inscription—permanent, not decorative

For us: God literally owns the one who bears His name (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Holiness is identity, not accessory (1 Peter 2:9).

Holiness—Set Apart, Not Apart

• “Be holy, for I am holy” (Leviticus 11:44; 1 Peter 1:15-16)

Hebrews 12:14: pursue holiness—no one sees the Lord without it

Romans 12:1: bodies offered as living, holy sacrifices—holiness touches daily choices

Carrying HOLY TO THE LORD into Monday

1. Renew the mind at dawn

– Acknowledge His ownership (Psalm 143:8)

– Let Scripture wash thinking (John 17:17)

2. Guard the gates

– Filter media and conversations (Psalm 101:3)

3. Speak as one wearing gold

– Refuse gossip, coarse joking, half-truths (Ephesians 4:29)

– Season words with grace (Colossians 4:6)

4. Choose integrity in the unseen

– Honest time sheets, taxes, online behavior (Proverbs 11:3)

5. Love people with set-apart mercy

– Quick forgiveness (Ephesians 4:32)

– Serve the overlooked (James 1:27)

– Keep marriage bed pure (Hebrews 13:4)

6. Treat the body as holy real estate

– Flee immorality, substance abuse (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)

– Rest, exercise, eat gratefully (1 Timothy 4:4-5)

7. Work and create as worship

– “Whatever you do…work at it with all your heart” (Colossians 3:23)

– Excellence and fairness honor Him

8. Schedule basin moments

– Priests washed before service (Exodus 30:17-21)

– Daily confession keeps the inscription untarnished (1 John 1:9)

Staying Polished by Grace

• We pursue holiness because He first made us holy (Hebrews 10:10)

• The Spirit continually polishes (Galatians 5:16-25)

• When we stumble, run to the throne, not away (Hebrews 4:16)

Our lives become living plates; every thought, word, and deed marked “HOLY TO THE LORD” turns ordinary moments into worship and makes the invisible God visible to a watching world.
