How to find joy in daily prayer?
How can we "bring joy" to our souls through daily prayer practices?

Soul-Cry of Psalm 86:4

“Gladden the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”

Daily Prayer Habits That Infuse Joy

• Early-morning surrender — “In the morning, LORD, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.” (Psalm 5:3)

• All-day gratitude — “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

• Confession for cleansing — “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

• Scripture-fed requests — “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly….” (Colossians 3:16)

• Praise and adoration — “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise….” (Psalm 100:4)

• Silent listening — “Be still, and know that I am God….” (Psalm 46:10)

• Night-time remembrance — “On my bed I remember You; I think of You through the watches of the night.” (Psalm 63:6)

Anticipated Fruits of These Practices

• Joy made full — “Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.” (John 16:24)

• Peace guarding heart and mind — “By prayer and petition, with thanksgiving… the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

• Strength renewed — “Those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength….” (Isaiah 40:31)
