How to fortify faith in spiritual trials?
What steps can we take to strengthen our faith during spiritual attacks?

Facing Taunts and Doubt: 2 Kings 19:10

“Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah: ‘Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you when He says, “Jerusalem will not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.”’ ”

Step 1: Recognize the Voice of the Enemy

• Every spiritual attack begins with a lie aimed at our trust in God (John 8:44).

• Name the lie—“God can’t/won’t help you”—so it loses stealth power.

• Compare every fearful thought to clear Scripture promises (Isaiah 41:10).

Step 2: Spread the Matter Before the Lord

• Hezekiah “spread it out before the LORD” (2 Kings 19:14).

• Take the attack—email, diagnosis, criticism, anxiety—into private prayer immediately.

• Speak honestly: “LORD, here is what’s been said; here is how it feels.”

Step 3: Ground Yourself in God’s Unchanging Word

• Read aloud passages that assert His supremacy:

Psalm 46:1–2

Isaiah 37:16 (parallel to 2 Kings 19:15)

• Personalize promises: “The LORD is my refuge and fortress” (Psalm 91:2).

• Memorize verses before crises hit (Psalm 119:11).

Step 4: Stand with Faithful Allies

• Hezekiah sent servants to Isaiah (2 Kings 19:2).

• Invite believing friends, pastors, or a small group to intercede.

• “Where two or three gather in My Name, there am I” (Matthew 18:20).

Step 5: Remember Past Victories

• Rehearse God’s track record: “I will remember the works of the LORD” (Psalm 77:11).

• Keep a journal of answered prayers; reread it under attack.

Deuteronomy 7:18–19 urges Israel to recall Egypt when future foes arise.

Step 6: Put On the Whole Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10–18 lists defenses for every believer:

– Truth to counter lies

– Righteousness to silence condemnation

– Gospel readiness to stay on mission

– Faith shield to extinguish fiery darts

– Salvation helmet for secure identity

– Word-wielded Spirit as sword

• Pray “at all times” (v. 18) for continual coverage.

Step 7: Praise God for Promised Deliverance

• Hezekiah asked, “So that all kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, O LORD, are God” (2 Kings 19:19).

• Praise shifts eyes from threat to throne (2 Chronicles 20:21–22).

• Expect God’s decisive answer; in Hezekiah’s case, the angel of the LORD struck 185,000 (2 Kings 19:35).

Practical Checklist for Today

□ Identify the specific lie attacking your faith.

□ Read or recite three truth-filled verses out loud.

□ Pray immediately, naming the situation before God.

□ Text or call one believer to join you in prayer.

□ List one past instance where God delivered you.

□ Consciously “put on” each piece of spiritual armor.

□ End the day with five minutes of praise, declaring God’s victory in advance.
