How to get our names in God's book today?
How can we ensure our names are recorded in God's "book" today?

God’s Unchanging Record

“Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)

Scripture speaks of a literal book that tracks every soul’s eternal destiny. Knowing our names are there is the single greatest security we can possess.

The Only Entrance: Personal Faith in Jesus

John 3:16-18—belief in the Son moves a person from condemnation to everlasting life.

Ephesians 2:8-9—salvation is “by grace…through faith…not from yourselves.”

Acts 4:12—“there is no other name under heaven…by which we must be saved.”

Practical take-away: Entrust yourself wholly to Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection. Nothing else earns a line in God’s book.

Responding with Repentance

Acts 3:19—“Repent therefore, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away.”

Exodus 32:33—unrepented sin keeps a name out; turning from sin clears the record.

Repentance is not mere regret; it is a decisive turn from self-rule to Christ-rule.

Public Identification: Confess and Be Baptized

Romans 10:9—“if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ …you will be saved.”

Acts 2:38—baptism marks the outward seal of an inward faith.

Confession and baptism do not add to Christ’s work; they testify you belong to Him.

Walking in Ongoing Obedience

Revelation 3:5—“The one who overcomes… I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life.”

1 John 2:3—“by this we know that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments.”

Saved people are kept by God’s power, yet they also persevere in faith and holiness. Continuance confirms reality.

Cultivating Daily Assurance

To strengthen certainty that your name is recorded:

• Regular time in Scripture—Romans 10:17, faith grows by hearing the Word.

• Prayerful dependence on the Spirit—Galatians 5:16, walk by the Spirit to avoid fleshly traps.

• Fellowship with faithful believers—Hebrews 10:24-25, encouragement helps endurance.

• Ongoing self-examination—2 Corinthians 13:5, test whether you are in the faith.

These habits do not earn the entry; they reassure the heart that the entry is genuine.

Living Out the Hope

Luke 10:20—“rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Philippians 4:3—faithful laborers already have names “in the Book of Life.”

Confidence flows from the finished work of Christ, expressed in a life that clings to Him. Rejoice, stand firm, and invite others to the same certainty—while the pages are still open.
