How to guide others to Christ today?
How can we "prepare the way" for others to know Christ today?

Our Call Resounds from Isaiah 62:10

“Go out, go out through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build it up, build up the highway; clear away the stones; raise a banner for the nations!”

What “Prepare the Way” Meant Then—And Means Now

• Isaiah first pictured Israel’s return from exile, urging workers to open a clear, safe road back to Zion.

• John the Baptist applied the same words to Christ’s arrival: “Prepare the way for the Lord” (Matthew 3:3).

• Because Jesus is still “the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6), believers keep that mandate alive—removing obstacles, building clear paths, and lifting a visible banner so others can reach Him.

Remove the Obstacles: Clearing Away the Stones

• Live blamelessly (Philippians 2:15); hypocrisy is a boulder that trips seekers.

• Offer forgiveness quickly (Ephesians 4:32); bitterness blocks the road.

• Guard your speech (Colossians 4:5-6); harsh words throw gravel in others’ faces.

• Repent openly when you sin; honesty sweeps the path clean again.

Build Up the Highway: Laying Solid Truth

• Know the gospel thoroughly—Christ died, was buried, rose, and saves (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

• Share Scripture, not mere opinion (Romans 10:17).

• Teach the basics of faith and worldview so people can walk with confidence (2 Timothy 2:15).

• Meet practical needs; acts of mercy lay firm pavement for the message (James 2:15-17).

Raise the Banner: Pointing Clearly to Jesus

• Speak His name unashamedly in daily conversation (Acts 4:12).

• Celebrate answered prayer and changed lives; testimonies are bright flags.

• Display visible symbols—Bibles on desks, verses in homes, Christ-honoring art—reminders that turn eyes upward.

• Use social media redemptively: Scripture posts, stories of grace, links to solid teaching.

Step Through the Gates: Taking Initiative with People

• Initiate friendships with outsiders; ambassadors move toward the ones they serve (2 Corinthians 5:20).

• Invite neighbors to meals, small groups, church services, community projects.

• Ask good listening questions, then share the hope within you “with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).

• Pray—privately and, when welcomed, aloud with them—for felt needs; few things open a heart faster.

Live as Signposts, Not Roadblocks

• Consistency between creed and conduct tells the truth about our King.

• Joy amid trials makes people wonder about the source (1 Peter 1:8).

• Servant leadership at work and home mirrors Christ, drawing attention to Him (Mark 10:45).

Momentum Matters: Keep the Highway Maintained

• Disciple new believers quickly so they, too, become road-builders (2 Timothy 2:2).

• Support missionaries and church planters—fresh pavement to unreached regions (Romans 10:14-15).

• Encourage weary saints; a smooth road needs ongoing upkeep (Hebrews 10:24-25).

God’s voice still echoes through Isaiah: clear the rubble, elevate the roadway, hoist the banner. As we obey, the path to Christ stays unmistakable, inviting, and wide open for the people He loves.
