How can we participate in bringing others to God, as in Isaiah 66:20? The Vision in Isaiah 66:20 “And they will bring all your brothers, from all the nations, as a gift to the LORD, on horses and chariots and wagons, on mules and camels, to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the LORD, “just as the Israelites bring an offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD.” (Isaiah 66:20) Isaiah pictures people streaming from every nation to God’s dwelling, carried by faithful messengers who treat each life as a sacred offering. That scene is not merely future; it shapes our mission now. Our Role in God’s Gathering Work • God Himself saves, yet He chooses to use His people as the “they” who do the bringing. • Jesus echoes the same calling: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19–20). • The Spirit supplies the power: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses…” (Acts 1:8). • Because Scripture is accurate and literal, these commands stand for every believer today. Practical Ways to Carry People to the Lord • Personal Witness – Share the gospel in everyday conversation. – Tell what Christ has done in your life (1 Peter 2:9). • Intercessory Prayer – Persistently name people before God (1 Timothy 2:1–4). – Pray for open doors and bold words (Colossians 4:3–4). • Hospitable Living – Invite neighbors, co-workers, students, refugees into your home and church life. – Show the kindness that adorns the gospel (Titus 2:10). • Discipleship and Mentoring – Walk alongside newer believers, teaching them to obey all that Christ commanded (Matthew 28:20). – Model holiness and humility (1 Corinthians 11:1). • Serving Practical Needs – Meet physical, emotional, and relational needs; good works open hearts to good news (Matthew 5:16). • Financial and Logistical Support – Give generously to missions and church planting (Philippians 4:15–17). – Send and sustain those God is calling to go where you cannot. Motivations That Fuel Our Participation • Love for God who first loved us (1 John 4:19). • Love for neighbors who are “without hope and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12). • Obedience to Christ’s clear commission. • The reality of eternal destinies (Hebrews 9:27). • Joy set before us as we present people to the Lord as a pleasing offering (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20). Promises That Strengthen Our Effort • Christ’s abiding presence: “Surely I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20). • Spirit-given boldness and clarity (2 Timothy 1:7). • God’s sovereign drawing of people: “I…will draw all men to Myself” (John 12:32). • Guaranteed harvest: “My word…will accomplish what I please” (Isaiah 55:11). Fuel for Faithful Participation Because Scripture assures that every nation will one day stream to the Lord’s holy mountain, we step into that unfolding plan today. Every testimony shared, prayer offered, act of compassion, dollar given, and disciple made is another “clean vessel” bearing a precious life to God. Press on, confident that the same God who spoke through Isaiah is gathering worshipers through you until the final multitude stands rejoicing before His throne. |
