How to honor God's deliverance today?
In what ways can we recognize and celebrate God's deliverance in our lives today?

The God Who Breaks the Bars

“ I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk upright.” (Leviticus 26:13)

Recognizing His Deliverance Today

• Salvation through Christ – “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

• Freedom from sin’s power – “For freedom Christ has set us free.” (Galatians 5:1)

• Daily answers to prayer – “I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4)

• Protection in trials – “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19)

• Transformation of mind and habits – “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:8)

Celebrating His Deliverance

• Sing and worship

– Follow Israel’s pattern: “Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD.” (Exodus 15:1)

– Keep worship personal and corporate—home praise and gathered church.

• Testify openly

– “I waited patiently for the LORD… He put a new song in my mouth.” (Psalm 40:1-3)

– Share specific stories of rescue with family, friends, congregation.

• Observe the Lord’s Supper often

– “Do this in remembrance of Me.” (1 Corinthians 11:24)

– Remember the cost of deliverance every time the cup and bread are received.

• Mark anniversaries and milestones

– Keep journals or set reminders of breakthrough dates; celebrate with thanksgiving meals, offerings, or special acts of service.

• Practice Sabbath rest

– Time set apart declares trust in the God who frees us from striving.

• Serve others in His name

– Move from slavery to service: “You were called to freedom… serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13)

Living Upright Lives as Proof of Deliverance

• Walk in obedience (John 14:15)

• Embrace holiness (1 Peter 2:9)

• Refuse to return to old chains (Romans 6:11-14)

• Stand firm in gospel liberty, confident that the bars are broken for good.
