How to honor God's presence today?
What actions can we take to honor God's presence in our lives today?

God’s Throne Among Us

“and He said to me: “Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell among the Israelites forever. The house of Israel and their kings will no longer defile My holy name by their prostitution and by the corpses of their kings at their high places.” (Ezekiel 43:7)

Responding to His Presence Today

• Take God at His Word

 – Trust that His promise to dwell “forever” is literal and still stands (John 14:23; Hebrews 13:5).

 – Expect His nearness in ordinary moments, not only in overtly “spiritual” settings.

• Cleanse the Living Temple

 – “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit…?” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

 – Remove anything that defiles: immoral habits, unconfessed sin, occult influences, divisive attitudes (2 Corinthians 7:1).

 – Regular practices: honest confession (1 John 1:9), accountability, fasting as needed.

• Guard Against Idolatry

 – Israel’s leaders “defiled” His name through spiritual prostitution; modern parallels include money-love, celebrity worship, pleasure obsession (Colossians 3:5).

 – Routinely ask, “Is anything claiming the throne of my heart?”

• Pursue Holiness in All Things

 – “Be holy in all you do” (1 Peter 1:15-16).

 – Set apart time, speech, media choices, and relationships to reflect His purity.

 – Holiness is not withdrawal but separation for God’s use (Romans 12:1).

• Cultivate Continual Awareness

 – “I have set the LORD always before me” (Psalm 16:8).

 – Simple disciplines: memorize Scripture, practice gratitude, pause for whispered praise during the day.

• Honor Him in Corporate Worship

 – God placed His throne in the midst of His people; gathering matters (Hebrews 10:24-25).

 – Come prepared: arrive early, pray for your church, engage wholeheartedly in song, Scripture, and giving.

• Walk in Obedient Love

 – His dwelling calls for loyalty expressed in action (John 14:15).

 – Forgive quickly, serve sacrificially, speak truth graciously (Ephesians 4:32; Galatians 5:13).

 – Let good works shine, drawing others to glorify God (Matthew 5:16).

• Extend His Reign Beyond the Walls

 – Wherever His people go, His throne-rule goes with them (Matthew 28:18-20).

 – Demonstrate justice, mercy, and humble service in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools (Micah 6:8).

 – Share the gospel confidently, trusting the Spirit’s power (Romans 1:16).

Living the Vision

Every deliberate step away from defilement and toward holiness welcomes the Lord who truly “dwells among us forever.” May our daily choices echo Ezekiel’s vision, turning ordinary spaces into places fit for the soles of our King’s feet.
