How to live under God's blessing today?
In what ways can we ensure we are living under God's blessing today?

Embracing the Heart of Numbers 6:27

“So they shall put My name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” (BSB)

Rooted in God’s Name

• In Scripture, to bear God’s name is to belong to Him (Isaiah 43:7).

• His name speaks of His character—holy, faithful, merciful (Exodus 34:5-7).

• When His name rests on us, blessing is the natural overflow (Psalm 115:13).

Receiving the Priestly Blessing

Numbers 6:24-26 sets the pattern:

– “The LORD bless you and keep you;

– the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you;

– the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.”

• Verse 27 assures its effectiveness: God Himself promises the result.

• Today our High Priest is Jesus (Hebrews 7:25-26); His intercession secures every line of that blessing.

Walking in Covenant Obedience

• Blessing and obedience travel together (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

– Hear His Word daily.

– Align choices with His commands.

– Repent quickly when convicted.

Psalm 1:1-3 pictures the blessed person as a well-watered tree—rooted in Scripture, bearing fruit in season.

Abiding in Christ, the Fulfillment of Blessing

• “Every spiritual blessing” is ours in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

• Jesus links abiding and answered prayer: “If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7).

• Practical ways to abide:

– Continual conversation with the Lord.

– Meditation on His words.

– Dependence on the Spirit’s empowerment.

Living as Carriers of the Name Today

1 Peter 2:9—“a chosen people… to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you.”

• Actions that reflect the Name:

– Integrity at work and home (Colossians 3:17).

– Compassion toward the needy (Matthew 5:7).

– Purity in speech and conduct (Ephesians 4:29).

Speaking Blessing Over Others

• The priestly pattern invites us to verbalize God’s good intentions.

Proverbs 18:21 reminds us words carry life.

• Practical steps:

– Bless your children or friends with the words of Numbers 6:24-26.

– Pray aloud God’s promises when gathered with fellow believers.

Expecting Eternal and Present Fruit

Galatians 3:14 connects the blessing of Abraham to the gift of the Spirit.

• Present evidence of blessing: love, joy, peace—the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

• Future certainty: the inheritance kept in heaven for you (1 Peter 1:4-5).

Holding fast to His name, walking in obedience, abiding in Christ, and extending blessing to others keeps us under the canopy of the promise: “I will bless them.”
