How to pursue faith goals daily?
How can we actively pursue the "goal of your faith" daily?

Living the Reality of 1 Peter 1:9

1 Peter 1:9: “as you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

The promise is literal and ongoing—already tasted, yet fully revealed at Christ’s return (1 Peter 1:5). Daily life becomes the place where we actively welcome what is surely coming.

Daily Habits That Aim at the Goal

• Fix attention on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2; Colossians 3:1-4). Start each morning recalling His cross, resurrection, and promised appearing.

• Feed on Scripture (Matthew 4:4; James 1:21). Read, memorize, and meditate to keep faith nourished.

• Pray without ceasing (Romans 12:12; Jude 20-21). Prayer keeps the soul breathing.

• Walk in continual repentance (1 John 1:9). Confession removes any cloud between believer and Savior.

• Pursue holiness (1 Peter 1:16). Obedience showcases the family likeness of the redeemed.

Strength Training for the Soul

2 Peter 1:5-7 lists virtues that prevent spiritual drift. Add one intentionally each day:

• goodness by unseen service

• knowledge through deeper study

• self-control by fasting from a habit

• perseverance in an unfinished duty

• godliness by imitating Christ’s character

• brotherly affection with an encouraging call

• love through hidden generosity

“When these qualities abound,” verse 8 promises fruitfulness.

Enduring Trials with Eyes on Salvation

• Rehearse promises louder than pain (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

• Cultivate gratitude in hardship (Philippians 4:6).

• Share burdens within the body (Galatians 6:2).

Trials refine faith “more precious than gold” (1 Peter 1:6-7).

Fueling Hope with Future Glory

• Reflect on bodily resurrection (Romans 8:23-25).

• Sing songs of heaven.

• Read Revelation 21-22 for perspective.

Hope anchors the soul (Hebrews 6:19) and propels daily faithfulness.

Guardrails for the Journey

• Fellowship—meeting stirs love and good works (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Communion—proclaiming His death “until He comes” (1 Corinthians 11:26).

• Disciple-making—joining the Savior’s mission (Matthew 28:18-20).

Finishing Well

Paul’s testimony in 2 Timothy 4:7-8—“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race”—mirrors Peter’s call. Cultivating these practices keeps believers receiving, savoring, and advancing toward the sure, literal salvation of their souls.
