How to reveal God's traits to others?
How can we help others see God's attributes clearly, as Romans 1:19 suggests?

Seeing What God Has Made Plain

“For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.” – Romans 1:19

God’s Ongoing Revelation in Creation

Psalm 19:1 – “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”

Romans 1:20 – “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities… have been clearly seen.”

God Himself has already placed visible evidence of His power and nature in the created order. Our role is to draw attention to what He has displayed.

Partnering With God to Open Eyes

1. Highlight Creation’s Design

• Point out beauty, order, and complexity in nature.

• Share examples from science that underscore fine-tuning (Job 12:7-10).

2. Live a Consistent Witness

Matthew 5:16 – let good works shine “that they may glorify your Father in heaven.”

Titus 2:10 – “adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every way.”

3. Speak the Word Clearly

Romans 10:17 – faith comes by hearing “through the word of Christ.”

• Use plain language; explain difficult terms; read passages aloud together.

4. Tell Your Story

Revelation 12:11 – overcame “by the word of their testimony.”

• Personal transformation showcases God’s mercy, power, and faithfulness.

5. Pray for Spiritual Sight

2 Corinthians 4:6 – God “who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts.”

• Ask Him to remove the veil (2 Corinthians 3:16).

Practical Ways to Showcase His Attributes

• Host an outdoor Bible study, letting creation illustrate passages on God’s power.

• Use art, photography, or music that reflects beauty and order—then connect each piece to a specific divine attribute.

• Volunteer in mercy ministries; explain that compassion flows from God’s own heart (Psalm 145:8-9).

• Celebrate answered prayer publicly, attributing the outcome to God’s faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).

• Read the Gospels with seekers to reveal God’s character in Christ (John 1:14; Colossians 1:15).

• Contrast worldly values with the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) while modeling those traits.

Verses That Reinforce the Call

Acts 14:17 – “He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven.”

Isaiah 40:26 – “Lift up your eyes… who created all these?”

1 Peter 3:15 – be ready to give a reason for the hope within you, yet with gentleness and respect.

Psalm 34:8 – “Taste and see that the LORD is good.”

Encouragement for Daily Life

Every sunset, every act of love, every page of Scripture is another lens through which God’s attributes shine. Draw attention to them, live them out, speak them plainly, and trust the Spirit to make what is already “plain” in creation unmistakably clear in human hearts.
