How can we apply Moses' example of seeking God's presence in our lives? Scripture Spotlight: Exodus 34:34 “But whenever Moses went before the LORD to speak with Him, he would remove the veil until he came out. And when he came out, he would tell the Israelites what he had been commanded.” Seeing Moses’ Heart • Moses treated meeting with God as the highest privilege, not a formality. • He removed the veil—nothing hidden, no pretense, full transparency. • He lingered “whenever” he went in; this was regular, intentional, and prioritized. • Afterward he carried God’s word to the people, allowing what he received to shape his ministry. Principles for Today • Remove the “veil” of distractions and sins (Hebrews 12:1; James 4:8). • Schedule unhurried time alone with God; don’t wait for convenience (Psalm 5:3). • Speak openly—confession and praise—then listen as He speaks through Scripture (Psalm 119:18). • Obey promptly; revelation is given to be lived, not merely admired (John 14:21). Inviting God into Everyday Moments • Begin and end each day with the Word, allowing it to bookend your thoughts (Joshua 1:8). • Turn drives, chores, and walks into conversational prayer times. • Fast from media noise periodically to heighten spiritual sensitivity. • Keep a journal of insights and answered prayers; it reinforces expectation. • Gather with believers who stir up hunger for His presence (Hebrews 10:24–25). Reflecting His Glory to Others • Just as Moses’ face shone, our unveiled hearts reflect Christ: “We all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed…” (2 Corinthians 3:18). • Let attitudes, words, and decisions point coworkers, family, and neighbors to Him (Matthew 5:16). • Share Scripture naturally; Moses relayed what God commanded, not personal opinions. Guarding the Pattern • Expect resistance—busyness, fatigue, spiritual warfare—but return to the “tent” anyway (Ephesians 6:18). • If you fail, repent quickly and start fresh; God’s mercy is new each morning (Lamentations 3:22–23). • Keep Christ’s finished work as the foundation: “We have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus” (Hebrews 10:19). Promises That Fuel Perseverance • “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13) • “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8) • “In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11) Moses’ example calls us to live unveiled, intentional, obedient lives—daily entering God’s presence and daily emerging to bless the world with what we’ve received. |
