How to share God's name locally?
How can we make God's name known in our own community today?

Seeing God’s Fame in Psalm 76:1

“God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel.” – Psalm 76:1

The psalmist celebrates a real, historical moment when the Lord’s reputation was unmistakable among His covenant people. Our task is the same in our own zip code: let neighbors see, hear, and feel how great He is.

Why His Name Matters

Exodus 9:16 – God raises people “to proclaim My name in all the earth.”

Malachi 1:11 – His name is to be great “among the nations.”

John 17:6 – Jesus revealed the Father’s name to His disciples, modeling our calling.

Practical Ways to Magnify His Name Locally

• Consistent holiness

Matthew 5:16; 1 Peter 2:12

– Live visibly different so people “glorify your Father in heaven.”

• Respectful speech

Colossians 4:6

– Speak His name naturally, gratefully, never casually.

• Bold gospel conversations

Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 1:16

– Clearly explain Christ’s death and resurrection; invite response.

• Compassionate service

Luke 10:37; Acts 4:9-10

– Meet needs; then credit Jesus openly for the love that motivates you.

• Vibrant corporate worship

Psalm 34:3; Hebrews 10:24-25

– Gather joyfully, doors open, music and message unmistakably Christ-centered.

• Community intercession

1 Timothy 2:1-4

– Pray by name for leaders, schools, first responders; tell them you are praying.

• Generational discipleship

Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Psalm 78:4

– Teach children Bible truth at home and church so His fame endures.

• Public-square engagement

Jeremiah 29:7

– Seek the welfare of your city: advocate for righteousness and mercy under God’s standards.

• Mission support

– 3 John 7-8; Philippians 4:15-17

– Give, send, and encourage those taking His name where it’s not yet known.

Guarding Against Fading Reverence

Ezekiel 36:20-23 warns that when God’s people live double-mindedly, His name is profaned. Vigilant repentance keeps our witness clear.

Promises to Those Who Honor Him

Psalm 91:14 – “Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows My name.”

Malachi 3:16-18 – The Lord remembers and spares those who fear His name.

John 17:26 – Jesus continues to make the Father’s name known so His love may be in us.

Launching Out This Week
