How to trust Jesus' power daily?
What steps can we take to trust Jesus' power in our daily struggles?

The Scene at Gerasa

Luke 8:35 shows the townspeople arriving to find “the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind.” Moments earlier he was uncontrollable; now he is peaceful, restored, and fully submitted to the Lord who freed him.

What the Verse Reveals About Jesus’ Power

• Absolute authority: demons, nature, sickness, and sin all obey Him (Luke 8:22-56).

• Transforming grace: He doesn’t merely restrain evil; He removes it and renews the whole person.

• Immediate peace: the man is “sitting” instead of raging—evidence that Christ replaces chaos with calm.

• Ongoing relationship: “at Jesus’ feet” points to continual dependence, discipleship, and worship.

Steps to Trust Jesus’ Power in Our Daily Struggles

1. Come as you are, urgently

– The demoniac “ran and fell before Jesus” (Luke 8:28). Approach Him first, not last.

Hebrews 4:16: “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

2. Sit at His feet daily

– Prioritize unhurried time in the Word and prayer.

Luke 10:39: “Mary…sat at the Lord’s feet listening to His message.”

3. Put on the clothing He provides

– The man is now “clothed.” In Christ we’re covered with His righteousness.

Ephesians 6:11: “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

4. Let Him steady your mind

– Jesus brings sound thinking where fear once ruled.

Philippians 4:7: “The peace of God…will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

5. Reject the crowd’s fear, choose faith

– The townspeople were “afraid,” yet the delivered man stayed with Jesus.

2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.”

6. Tell the story of His deliverance

– Jesus later says, “Return home and describe how much God has done for you” (Luke 8:39). Sharing reinforces trust and encourages others.

Keeping These Steps Alive Throughout the Day

Morning: Acknowledge His authority before any task.

Mid-day: Pause, sit internally at His feet—reset with a verse or a hymn.

Evening: Review how He showed power; thank Him, release lingering worries.

Scriptures to Carry With You

Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.”

John 16:33 – “In the world you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Romans 12:2 – “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Matthew 11:28 – “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Trust grows as each struggle becomes another opportunity to run to Jesus, sit at His feet, and watch His power bring order, peace, and victory.
